| Depending on the type, frequency and complexity of the changes, I have several options I can offer you. The majority of my clients have me do the maintenance of the site. Depending on your level of experience and the complexity of your site, I can suggest customized scripts which I can install on your server that will allow an interface through your browser to make minor textual changes or you can user a template based site building program, such as Trellix® Site Builder, which is offered with the Windows servers I offer.
For those on Yahoo! Stores, based on your specifications and budget, the amount of customization required to obtain the look you desire for your site may vary. Although, no matter what, the end design will allow you to continue to maintain, add and delete your products and your content. Maintenance of the design may varying based on the level of customization. Regardless, I offer in depth coaching and training on Yahoo! Store features and functions. | A Web Server is the home of your ".com" on the World Wide Web. When the URL to your Web site is requested, this computer comes alive and "serves" up your site. The quality and performance of your server or host is crucial to your success. Connectivity, power and redundancy will a determine how your site performs when visitors arrive. Down time is unacceptable. The servers I utilize are Compaq Dec Alphas, 450-550 MHz Dual-Processors, 1G Ram, Digital Unix, Apache 1.3.6. Connected via Multiple T3s and Redundant T1s.

| Yes! Some folks are under the impression that by just posting their Web site or an arbitrary advertisement somewhere out there, aren't even sure where, the phone will ring. Not to say you won't find a company or individual "Web Designer" willing to take your money for something you may never view or utilize to its full potential. You need a computer; you will need to email; you will need to market your site online to make sure it gets found amongst the billions of other Web pages out there.
Without a computer how will you take advantage of all the tools and opportunity online that are available to those willing to roll up their sleeves and practice the skills I teach them? If you're going to have a Web site, you need to have a Web presence as well to be successful. Without a computer and access to the Internet you will not get the optimum ROI. Is 8G of transfer and 150M of disk space going to be enough to support my Web site? |
| 8G is more than enough bandwidth for the average Web site. Depending on the quantity and size of your files, this could support hundreds of thousands of hits per month. If the traffic to your Web site indicates we need to scale up, you'll be pleased to do so! Each server comes with the tools to track and monitor your resources. If we see you are outgrowing the Starter Web package, I upscale you into the Advanced Web package. Should your needs continue to grow, we can move up from there.

| If you have hired Jill Of All Trades to produce your Web site, when your server is activated I create a professional "Coming Soon...." page at no additional charge. This page includes a customized script for visitors who may find us before I launch your Web site formally, to submit their email address to be notified when your site goes LIVE. I collect and archive these emails for you until the launch of your site.
Most accounts are set up and active within 24 hours! For those developing their own sites, once an account is set up an activation notice will be sent you via e-mail including a User ID, Password, and FTP information. | Yes. I can request either a new domain name registration or, once your account is activated, a domain name transfer. You do NOT need to submit a registration or modification template, as this will only delay your request. Understand, however, that if you already have a domain name, the current Administrative and Technical contacts must respond to Network Solutions's transfer request. If they do not follow through or cooperate, I will need your authorization, in writing (which I customarily request from all transfer clients in case I need this documentation), allowing us to request the transfer be made. Without the previous contacts cooperation or this fax, I am unable to complete this process.
Typically the registration is completed within 24-72 hours. Transfers can take up to 7-10 business days. You can also choose to check the availability and register your new domain name yourself by visiting Network Solutions, or other registrars such as Register.com. | Top | |

| Yes. You can visit Network Solutions, or other registrars such as Register.com., and register it accordingly. I will also be pleased to check availability and, if your selections are not available make suggestions for you.

| Currently if you have me register your .com, .org or .net, the total fee is $80 which covers your first two years of ownership, service and maintenance fees. At this point the annual fee after the 2 year period is only $35/annually. If you register your own domain name, there are many agencies that you can use (see Can I check domain name availability and register my own domain?) and the fees will vary. You will want to insure that you are dealing will an approved domain licensing agency.

Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the 'www.' on my Earthlink Server? |
| Yes, you will be able to access your domain name with or without the 'www.' in front. For example, you can access the domain name "mydomain.com" by going to "www.mydomain.com" as well as "mydomain.com". This comes in handy for those URLs that are just a bit too long.

| Yes. Be sure to specify that you are requesting a transfer and NOT a new domain. You should keep the service at your present site while waiting for your domain name to transfer. I will provide you with a temporary URL so I can mirror your site on your new server. All email and Web pages will still be accessed from your current site. When Network Solutions receives the template, they will generate an acknowledgment request (Ack/Nak) and send it to the current Administrative Contact of the domain. Once the Administrative Contact acknowledges the transfer, Network Solutions will update their records. If the current Administrative contact does not respond to Network Solutions's request, the domain cannot be transferred. If this is the case, you will need to provide me with your written authorization to make the transfer on your behalf. If this step proves necessary, I will provide the appropriate info for you to create a letter of authorization for me.
It is very important that you use the same company name and address on the template as that which is on file at Network Solutions. If the company name differs from that which is on file, Network Solutions will treat the transfer as a delete/new and will not allow the transfer to be completed. If the contact information for the domain is no longer current, you will need to prepare a fax that must be on your company letterhead. Here again, I will provide the appropriate info for you if this process becomes necessary. | Top | |
| In order to transfer a domain name from one organization to another, Network Solutions requires that the original owner file a "delete/new" template. This template consists of two domain registration templates, combined into one email. The first template deletes the registration of the original domain name, and the second re-registers the domain name using the new owner's information. This request must be initiated by the original owner, as the owner is the only one authorized to make such a modification.

| Once it is confirmed that your domain name has been registered (or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 24-72 hours before it visible to all users of the Internet (some transfers can take up to 7-10 business days). All Internet providers must update their records (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations. This process is called propagation and is scheduled by each individual ISP as to their update frequency.
