ROMEOVILLE, ILL., October 10, 2000 - The Will County Humane Society has received the $2,000 charitable donation offered by Cintas Corporation as a part of the Millennium Outstanding Community Service Award. The winner of the award, Jill Of All Trades, selected a favorite charity to receive the donation.
"The Will County Humane Society is the only local animal shelter with a "no kill" policy regarding the animals in their care," said Jill Kallos, president of Jill Of All Trades. "It is very rewarding to know that my involvement with the Romeoville community is helping the Humane Society accomplish something they would not have been able to do otherwise."
The Humane Society will use the donated money to enlarge the existing shelter building and increase the number of available animal housing facilities. Any additional money raised during the next few months will be applied toward general upkeep around the shelter, including gas bills and animal food.
"We were very pleased to be chosen as the beneficiary of the donation," said Larry Ringbauer, manager of the Will County Humane Society. "We have wanted to expand the shelter, but have not had the money to be able to do so. This donation will allow us to accomplish our goal and save the lives of more animals."
The Will County Humane Society received the donation today in a special ceremony held at Lewis University. The
Millennium Outstanding Community Service Award was created to recognize the outstanding contribution and commitment of a local business to improving the well being of the Romeoville community. The Romeoville Chamber of Commerce, Cintas Corporation, and The Herald News sponsored the award.
Jill Of All Trades was chosen because of the company’s efforts to enhance the exchange of community information and increase involvement in, and support of, the Romeoville community.
